Refugee Facility 17 was one of the many squalid refugee centers established on Ruan during the Yuuzhan Vong War. It was connected by road to a major spaceport, and was built on the site of an old junkyard.
Its species included Wookiees, Gamorreans, Ithorians, Gotals, Gands, Ruurians, Bimms, Weequay, Saheelindeeli, Myneyrsh, Vors, Rybets, Tammarians, Dugs, and 37 Ryn (including Melisma and Gaph). Due to the low standard of living, cramped space, and multitude of species, there was a constant sense of barely-restrained rioting.
