Raz and the Ubo-Kings

Raz and the Ubo-Kings was a musical band active during the periods of Galactic War, Eternal Empire conquest and Revolt against the Eternal Empire.

History

The band was founder and led by a short-tempered Duros Raz and spend years in obscurity on Nar Shaddaa. Raz claimed that their talents were wasted there and their music was way ahead of the time.

In 3636 BBY the Eternal Empire conquest led to much of the galaxy being dominated by the Eternal Empire of Zakuul. Through unknown means, holos of the band's performances were brought to Zakuul, where they became an overnight sensation, played not just on on street corners and in underground dance venues, but in every club on the Spire - the Eternal Empire's capital city.

Meanwhile, Raz and the Ubo-kings were stuck on Nar Shaddaa, unable to profit from their explosive success on Zakuul. Raz eventually was able to prep a tour to the Spire, but by that time then-current Emperor Arcann was dethroned and his Eternal Throne was assumed by his sister Vaylin, who banned offworld music on Zakuul. Vaylin was soon replaced by the Commander of the Eternal Alliance and Indo Zal arranged for Raz and the Ubo-kings to play at the related festivities. Their expenses costed Zal more than that of a small fleet.

Behind the scenes

Raz and the Ubo-Kings are mentioned in Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne in a Codex entry obtained during "Chapter VI: The Dragon's Maw".
