The Raxus system was a star system located in the Tion Hegemony of the Outer Rim Territories, at grid square S-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Home to the planets Raxus Secundus and Raxus Prime, the Raxus system had a single star, and played host to several different species, such as Gossam, humans, Ithorians, Leyakians, Siniteen, Twi'leks, and Weequay.
In 24 BBY, fallen Jedi Count Dooku gave a speech in the Raxus system, where he commandeered a HoloNet relay station within the system. In the speech, Dooku denounced the Galactic Republic as a futile enterprise that was burdened by corruption and favoritism toward the Core Worlds. Afterwards, the Serennian founded the Confederacy of Independent Systems and began a secessionist movement which resulted in thousands of star systems, including the Raxus system, leaving the Republic for the Confederacy.
