A powertech was a type of bounty hunter that appeared during the years of the Great Galactic War and the Cold War that followed it circa 3653 BBY. Powertechs wore powered armor, served the resurgent Sith Empire and were known for their use of wrist-mounted flamethrowers and personal energy shields as well as their ability to absorb impressive amounts of damage in battle.
The powertech is an advanced class for the bounty hunter class in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO video game. This advanced class specializes in defense, utilizing their custom-made armor, and absorbing damage in battle. The Republic counterpart for this archetype is the Trooper vanguard specialization.
