Porter droids were a type of droid designed for transporting luggage. When technicians Joss and Pikka Adren encountered Starlight Beacon administrator Shai Tennem and a group of dignitaries he was escorting on a tour, upon learning that the Adrens would be departing the space station on the same starship as most of the dignitaries, Tennem attempted to get them to join the tour, stating that porter droids could retrieve their belongings from their quarters.
