Population Observation was an initiative active during the Clone Wars in which standard citizens of the Galactic Republic were continuously surveyed for their opinions on a multitude of subjects regarding the war effort. A number of records from the program were stored in the Galactic Empire's Imperial Archives under the Galactic Republic — Population Observation section, Directives and Operations file. The historian Beaumont Kin cited the file in the Imperial Archives in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
