Popo first appeared in the 2023 non-canonical comic book one-shot Visions – Peach Momoko, written and illustrated by Peach Momoko, and published by Marvel Comics on November 15, 2023. The character was originally not created for Star Wars: Visions and was already designed years prior to the project, though she was later included as Momoko felt that it was the perfect opportunity.
