The Pnakotic Coast first appeared in the 2018 Anthology movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, and was first identified in Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide. In the script for Solo, the area was named the Pnakotic Dunes as a nod to H. P. Lovecraft.
