The Eighteenth Sector Army of the Galactic Republic was tasked with engaging the military forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in Pendaxa's vicinity during the first campaigns of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY. By 17 BBY, Pendaxa fell within the territory controlled by the Separatist holdouts, and that year, the military of the Galactic Empire fought a famous battle there as part of the Western Reaches Operation, a campaign targeting pirates and Separatist remnants that was a part of the Imperial Reconquest of the Rim.
Pendaxa was introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas later placed the Pendaxa system, and therefore Pendaxa, in grid square K-19.
