The Patriarch was the title given to the leader of the Supreme Council of the Highland Clans that ruled the planet Skye. Such individuals would alternate between the Highland and Lowland Clans. Once given the position, the clan would usually hold the position for forty-two years at which point they were required to hand the title to the other clan. Klarymére was the Patriarch of Skye until his death during the Battle of Skye, after which he was succeeded by one of his guardsmen, Aragh.
