The renowned Jedi architect Palo Hidalla was a member of the Jedi Order who lived during the High Republic Era. Working in tandem with the Galactic Republic's finest talent, the architect designed the Starlight Beacon space station, including its Jedi temple. Due to Hidalla's involvement in designing the structure, many engineers and specialists from across the Republic decided to join the project. The architect's designs were then used by laborers working under the construction overseer Shai Tennem to construct the station.

Starlight Beacon was launched in the Galactic Frontier in 232 BBY. The temple that Hidalla designed was the second largest in the galaxy, dwarfed only by the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the planetary capital of the Republic. Like the rest of Starlight Beacon, Hidalla's temple represented a symbol of hope while dually serving as a practical Frontier base of operations for the Jedi. When Starlight Beacon was attacked by Nihil marauders in 230 BBY, Jedi Padawan Bell Zettifar and Jedi Master Elzar Mann thought about Starlight Beacon's architects shortly before the station was destroyed. Jedi Master Harli Cogra mentioned Hidalla in the third chapter of Chronicles of the Jedi, a document that detailed the Jedi of the High Republic written in 229 BBY.
