PZ1-3

PZ1-3 was a droid with masculine programming who served the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era, piloting the Padawan academic cruiser Star Hopper. He was present aboard the Star Hopper when the cruiser was redirected to assist the Trymant system after it fell victim to an Emergence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster. PZ1-3 later piloted the Star Hopper when it brought Lula Talisola, Zeen Mrala and Kantam Sy on a fact-finding mission back to Trymant IV.

Trymant disaster

Active by the year 232 BBY, the droid PZ1-3 served the Jedi Order. He was stationed as the pilot aboard the Star Hopper, an academic cruiser that carried a number of Jedi Padawans under the supervision of Jedi Masters Yoda and Torban Buck.

Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster, the Star Hopper received a call for help from the Trymant system, which was threatened by both an Emergence related to the incident and an attack by Nihil marauders. The cruiser and its Jedi passengers subsequently raced to provide assistance to the Trymant system. While in hyperspace, the droid informed Yoda that officials on the Starlight Beacon space station had alerted the Star Hopper that it was the only ship of the Jedi Order or Galactic Republic within range of Trymant. Padawan Farzala Tarabal suggested that they should wait for backup, but Yoda was determined to continue, seeing the Star Hopper and its Padawans as the only hope for the system.

As the Star Hopper prepared to exit hyperspace, PZ1-3, at the cruiser's controls, provided a countdown to their arrival in the Trymant system. While the droid counted down, Yoda instructed the Padawans to report on what they had found about the situation. Upon their arrival above the planet Trymant IV, the Padawans exited the cruiser and descended toward the planet on rescue speeders to assist its inhabitants. The Jedi were ultimately able to hold off the Nihil until a Republic rescue fleet could arrive, driving away the raiders and saving the planet's population. The Star Hopper subsequently returned to the Starlight Beacon.

Aftermath and return

One week after the Star Hoppers arrival at the station, several Masters convened to discuss the future of Zeen Mrala, a Force-sensitive resident of Trymant IV who the Jedi had rescued. When Lula Talisola and Tarabal suggested asking both Mrala herself and the friends she had made aboard Starlight, PZ1-3 was present among a crowd of Jedi who were showing their support for Mrala.

Later, PZ1-3 piloted the Star Hopper on a return voyage to Trymant IV, with only Master Kantam Sy, Talisola, and Mrala aboard. The Jedi had been sent to learn more about the Nihil; to do so, they wished to find other members of Trymant's Elders of the Path who could provide information on what the Nihil had wanted with Elder Tromak, who had been taken by the pirates during their earlier attack. However, upon the starship's arrival in the system, the droid was shocked to note to the Jedi that Trymant IV had been severely ecologically devastated by the Emergence, turning from a lush arboreal planet to a desert.

Characteristics

PZ1-3 had masculine programming, and was outfitted with gray plating and blue sensors. He possessed a long-necked body and a pair of arms. He had various lights on his head and torso, as well as antennae on either side of his head.
