PTP link

Available in a wide range of styles and sizes, PTP links were popular during the time of the Galactic Republic. Eventually new and more powerful forms of telecommunications - such as the HoloNet - made PTP links obsolete. Despite the obsolescence of PTP links, they found a large following among the Rebel Alliance due to the fact that most modern communications devices were incapable of picking up PTP transmissions, making them ideal for covert communication. With the addition of a PTP encryption device, a PTP's archaic transmission format was virtually undetectable. Basic models cost 150 credits to buy, although models with encryption packages could cost up to a 1,000 credits.
