The Outrider leaving Mos Eisley in the A New Hope Special Edition
The Outrider was first introduced to the new Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book YT-1300 Millennium Falcon Owners' Workshop Manual, written by Ryder Windham. It was originally created for the 1996 Star Wars Legends multimedia series Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire where it was the personal ship of Dash Rendar. It was later included in the 1997 Special Edition of A New Hope, where it could be seen leaving Mos Eisley shortly after Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO and R2-D2 arrive in the spaceport.
