Orchis 2

Orchis 2 was a terrestrial moon where the Graf Archive, a depository of records and artifacts, was located. The moon was home to the Graf family and at one point was occupied by the Galactic Empire. The Empire eventually left, leaving the Graf Archive damaged. The human male Milo Graf tried to restore the archive with assistance from the droid CR-8R before being betrayed and electrocuted by him. Sometime later, historian Eloc Throno studied cartography under Director Amel Fortoon on Orchis 2.

Description

Orchis 2 was a terrestrial moon. It shared its name with the Inner Rim planet Orchis, and several celestial bodies loomed large in its sky.

For centuries, Orchis 2 was home to the Graf family, a powerful family of hyperspace prospectors during the High Republic Era. The Galactic Empire later took control of the moon and used the Graf Archive as a library for years. When the Empire left Orchis 2, it damaged several databanks and destroyed texts. Between 4 ABY and 5 ABY, the human male Milo Graf went to the moon along with the droid CR-8R "Crater" to restore the archive. Milo contacted his sister, Lina Graf, and he asked her if she would come home soon, to which she replied that Orchis 2 was not their home.

Milo stated he had not been aware the library still existed, to which his sister replied that none of their family had been aware of the fact. CR-8R and Milo then informed her about what the Empire had left behind, including diagrams of Fortress Vader, the castle of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader located on the Outer Rim Territories planet Mustafar. After Lina terminated the transmission session, Milo told CR-8R about a dream he had had. After Milo finished relaying his dream, the droid electrocuted the boy, claiming to be following the orders of his Dark Lord. CR-8R later transported the unconscious Milo to Mustafar.

The historian Eloc Throno at one point studied cartography under Director Amel Fortoon on Orchis 2. Throno later mentioned the moon in his travel guide, Traveler's Guide to Batuu. The moon was also mentioned in an artist's journal that was restored, expanded, and displayed in the Graf Archive at some point after 34 ABY. Long after 34 ABY, the archive covered most of the moon's surface, and Fortoon mentioned both Orchis 2 and the facility in the introduction to a collection of ancient hand-drawn maps the archive had restored and collected.

Locations

Orchis 2 was home to the Graf Archive, an immense depository of records and artifacts overseen by Director Fortoon. Items that could not be immediately identified were moved to the archive's subterranean department known as the Shadow Stacks.
