Opaline Creed

The Opaline Creed was a religious faction based on the planet Crucival. Residing in a cloister at the city Templemarch, the faction was among many which sought power and control over the planet. Hazram Namir found and joined the Creed soon after the death of his former master Warlord Malkhan and the subsequent fall of the warlord's clan. Namir was named Umu seven, being the seventh individual in the Creed to be named after Umu the second son of the Hieroprince. The Creed initially enjoyed great success and prosperity, amassing great amounts of food, water, and gold, but eventually dissolved, with their cloister being reduced to ruins.

Traditions and beliefs

The Creed's doctrines included worship of a being known as the "Hieroprince" which drove them to oppose the other clans of Crucival. The faction labeled these clans as heretics for not worshiping the Hieroprince as they do. The Creed's holy book was known as the Tome of the Hieroprince.

Followers of the Creed recited oaths of loyalty in the morning and at night, and listened to readings from the Tome of the Hieroprince. Not being present for a ceremony required the offender to pray for penance for an entire night. Members of the Creed were given new names; there were at least seven different Umus, including the boy whose real name was Hazram Namir.
