In 14 BBY, the Obroa-skai system was the site of a large space accident involved several freighters and civilian that claimed the lives of 1,100 passengers aboard the MC80 Star Cruiser Stellar Vista. The accident had been caused by a botched Imperial military operation to capture Moff Tarkin's stolen corvette Carrion Spike, which had been stolen by Berch Teller and his rebel cell. During the operation, an Immobilizer 418 cruiser's gravity well projectors malfunctioned; causing the gravity well to yank a large number of vessels out of hyperspace. In addition, Teller's cell sent a decoy vessel, the YT-1000 light freighter Reticent, to throw the Imperials off-scent.
