Nydak Alpha

The Nydak Alphas were more aggressive, relentless, and reclusive than the Lesser Nydaks. Due to their powerful forearms, they were also deadlier than the regular nydaks. In combat, the Nydak Alpha used intellect and strength to defend against multiple parries.

In 14 BBY, the Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis visited Dathomir as part of a secret mission to rebuild the Jedi Order. During his journey, Kestis killed a Nydak Alpha in the planet's Nightmare Ruins.

Nydak Alphas appeared in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. There is only one Nydak Alpha in the game, who serves as one of the four optional beasts the player character, Cal Kestis, can defeat. If the player kills all four of the creatures, they can earn the "Legendary Beasts" trophy. In Fallen Orders 2023 sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the Nydak Alpha's animations and behaviors from the previous game were reused for the Sutaban Alphas, found on the moon Jedha.
