The Galactic Empire-affiliated bounty hunter Bane Malar favored a powerful Noslo-19 with specialty ammunition. With Malar operating from the planet Kessel, he used the customized slug rifle along with an enviro-suit, the latter to adopt to Kessel's thin atmosphere. At some point after the Battle of Yavin, Malar was armed with the Noslo-19 when he fought a Sullustan, whom he disarmed using telekinesis.

At some point by 4 ABY, Malar was on the planet Tatooine at the palace of Jabba the Hutt, a crime lord on the planet. Malar had accepted a contract from the Black Sun crime syndicate to assassinate Jabba, and took the Noslo-19 with him while he was at the palace.

Behind the scenes

The Noslo-19 slug rifle was first depicted by an illustration in the 1992 Heir to the Empire Sourcebook, written by Bill Slavicsek for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, before being also pictured by Bane Malar's card in the 1998 Jabba's Palace Limited set of Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game. The weapon was first named when Edward M. Erdelac, writing as "caledre," wrote about Bane Malar for StarWars.com's Hyperspace feature "What's The Story?," with the entry published on March 27, 2008. In July the same year, the Noslo-19 slug rifle was also included in a Bane Malar action figure released as part of Hasbro Inc.'s Star Wars: The Legacy Collection line. The rifle was colored silver for the action figure, contradicting the black coloration of the rifle used by the Star Wars Customizable Card Game. This article treats the silver color as the rifle's in-universe color.
