The Nilgaard sector was a sector located in the Outer Rim Territories region of the galaxy. The planet Karkaris, homeworld of the Karkarodon and terminus of the Perlemian Trade Route, was located in the sector. During the Clone Wars, the sector was strongly allied to the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
When the Imperial corvette Carrion Spike was stolen from Moff Wilhuff Tarkin and flown to the Fial system in the Tion Cluster, Imperial Intelligence began calculating what jumps it could make into nearby star systems and further afield into the Nilgaard sector.
