The New Academy for Space Pilots was a Rebel Alliance flight academy located on an unidentified planet.
The New Academy for Space Pilots was commanded by Rebel Alliance General Oleson. It was responsible for training the pilots of the Planetary Pioneers.
Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, Luke Skywalker attended the New Academy for Space Pilots as a member of the Planetary Pioneers. During that time, he was responsible for destroying a maverick moon on a collision course with the planet housing the academy. Following the moon's destruction through the use of Zukonium rays, Princess Leia Organa awarded Skywalker a medal of honor for saving the planet and the academy.
