Relationship with Lucasfilm


On March 7, 2014—as part of a deal with The Walt Disney Company to become the exclusive American subscription service for Lucasfilm Ltd.-produced content beginning in 2016—Netflix made available the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars film, as well as all 121 episodes of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, including the previously unreleased sixth season. The latter were exclusive to Netflix until they were released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 11, 2014. The Clone Wars, both movie and show, left Netflix on April 7, 2019.

Starting in 2016 and ending in 2020, , Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, , and Solo: A Star Wars Story appeared on the service for a time, usually around two years. The agreement with Disney ended in 2019 due to the launch of Disney+, with its Disney-related productions moving exclusively to the service in 2022.
