Nemenov was a rebel pilot who flew an X-wing starfighter for the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry during the Galactic Civil War. Their assigned ship was the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise, which flew with the 61st's troop transport, the CR90 corvette Thunderstrike, and carried the company's two X-wings on its underbelly. Both Nemenov and the other X-wing pilot swore they would never board the troop carrier.
In 3 ABY, while the Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise stopped for repairs at the planet Ankhural, Nemenov made a rare appearance among the 61st soldiers at a cantina following the funeral of the company's captain, Micha Evon. The pilot expressed confusion when First Sergeant Hazram Namir tried to say that the other soldiers would fight only for the memory of Evon, prompting Namir to clarify his statement. As the conversation continued, Namir found Nemenov annoying.
