Mount Tantiss dig

The Mount Tantiss dig was an archaeological expedition undertaken by the New Republic Xenoarchaeology Division in the ruins of Mount Tantiss on the planet Wayland several standard days after the destruction of Mount Tantiss in 9 ABY. The expedition was led by the xenoarchaeologist Garv Debble and his assistant Milanda Vorgan.

The New Republic search teams spent a few days recovering various artifacts from the ruins of Mount Tantiss. The next morning, the archaeologists discovered a new chamber in the mountain, and believed they had found the Duinarbulon Stones. Lead archaeologist Garv Debble was excited at the prospect as the discovery of the Stones would be the first proof that the Duinarbulon Star Lancers were, indeed, real. However, the crystals thought to be the gems were not the Duinarbulon Stones. Debble's expedition was nearly thwarted by Ekhrikhor, a Noghri, who wanted all of Emperor Palpatine's belongings destroyed. Debble protested, and Councillor Leia Organa Solo eventually had to intervene and allow Debble the opportunity to complete his work. The Debble Agreement was negotiated by Organa Solo between Debble, who wished to preserve the artifacts, and the Noghri cleansing teams who sought to destroy all indication of Palpatine's presence there. The New Republic historian Voren Na'al later mentioned Mount Tantiss dig in his journal.
