Morale officers was a position proposed by the Imperial Count Denetrius Vidian during his tour to the thorilide mines of Cynda. While visiting the Cyndan Mining Guild, Vidian ordered the company's Director Palfa to have his work crew name a morale officer who would ensure that their colleagues supported the Empire. Palfa doubted such a scheme would work because most of the miners were rough characters. Vidian was unconcerned due to his preoccupation with eliminating threats to the Empire.
