The Mon Calamari Inglenook was an annex of the Palace of the Republic built sometime during the time of the Galactic Republic. Resembling a giant coral reef, the transparisteel walls of the massive spa allowed natural light to spill into the building and create a relaxing retreat for aquatic species who worked at the Palace or in the government elsewhere on Coruscant.
Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine allowed for the Inglenook to remain opened, using it as an exclusive spa for his Imperial minions. When the New Republic seized the planet and ousted the Imperials following the death of Palpatine, the Palace and the Inglenook were taken for Republic use. The Inglenook remained open until 27 ABY when it was destroyed during the Yuuzhan Vong empire's invasion of the planet.
