Mod-3 was an R2-series astromech droid owned by Vana Sage during her time working for the Trade Federation prior to the Battle of Naboo. He served as Sage's co-pilot and in-flight astromech aboard her starship, the Guardian Mantis. Mod-3 was hardwired into the ship and could not be removed.
