Thrawn and Thalias met the refugees and their leader, known only as the Magys, who sought suicide for her people so they could join "The Great Beyond." Thrawn was okay with the Magys committing suicide, but Thalias objected strongly. Thalias sought to prove that hope remained for the Magys' people on their homeworld "Sunrise," which led to a mission to that planet which became a battle.
During the mission, Thrawn returned the Marocsaa subclan ring bearing a chimaera that Uingali had entrusted him with. Thrawn and Thalias also saw a chimaera painted on the hull of a Nikardun blockade frigate that Uingali had captured.
Later, Senior Captain Lakinda of the Grayshrike came to Rapacc to send a message to Thrawn. Thrawn had already left, and Uingali gave Lakinda the coordinates for "Sunrise."
