Mace Windu sent the two Jedi to find the scientist Ratri Tane, who possessed very valuable information.
Aayla and Ylenic arrived on Corellia and entered the Homestar cantina, where Aayla accidentally Force pushed an irritating Toydarian named Lorfo, getting the attention of three Gotals who were also looking for Tane.
A fight broke out between the Gotals and Jedi (leaving one of the Gotals dead), and the Jedi left the cantina, where Rostek Horn urged them to leave the planet. They were approached by Lorfo, who agreed to lead them to the Gotals' hideout for a few credits. When they arrived there however, they were seemingly betrayed by Lorfo to the two remaining Gotals and Tendir Blue, a Separatist working for Count Dooku.
The Jedi dispatched Tendir and the Gotals, and soon discovered that Ratri Tane had already escaped Corellia and was actually being impersonated by Jedi Master Nejaa Halcyon. The whole mission had been engineered by the Jedi Council, Corellian Jedi, Rostek Horn and Lorfo to convince the Separatists they had the real information when in fact the true data was already in the hands of the Republic.The Jedi intially planned to implant fake memories into the unconscious Tendir's mind convincing him that he had succeeded in getting the data, but realised that Dooku would probe his mind to find out the truth. Instead, Lorfo convinced Tendir that he'd killed Ylenic but that Aayla was still after him and he had to escape. Aayla pretended to pursue him and Tendir escaped, delivering the false information to the Confederacy.
