The Microparticle Ion Accelerator, also known as an ion-stream projector, was the center-piece of the TIE Series starfighter. The Accelerator was fed super-charged ions gathered from , accelerating them to near lightspeed before sending them through repulsor fields and out the Twin-Port Ion Stream Exhaust Vent to provide reaction thrust.
