A med sprinter was a type of small, in-system starship that was often carried aboard much larger warships. During battle, these small craft would dart about the battle planes, rescuing extravehicular starfighter pilots or extracting wounded personnel from damaged or abandoned combat vessels. These ships often carried a medical corpsman in addition to a pilot.
