Mantle

A mantle was a type of clothing often made out of cloth-of-gold. Mantles were used at the ceremony to welcome a new supreme governor on the planet Birren, and used in conjunction with scepters. They were placed on his or her shoulders as a symbol of sheltering the people of Birren. Senator Mon Mothma wore a Chandrilan mantle in the waning days of the Galactic Republic.
