When the Galactic Empire came to Tangenine, they realized the Malandro syndicate was too embedded into the system and turned to bounty hunters to clean up for them. Lauren returned under the alias Brand. She took jobs primarily against the Malandro syndicate. With other bounty hunters taking jobs on their gangsters as well, the Malandro syndicate started to deteriorate in numbers. Brand eventually got revenge on Annaz for the killing of her parents by killing her personally. The Malandro syndicate fragmented shortly after.
