Mon Cala city's skyscrapers were essentially landed and docked MC starship designs.

Description

The MC-series star cruiser was a line of Mon Calamari starships that were manufactured by Mon Calamari Shipyards. Members of the MC-series were characterized for a bulbous and organic-looking design. Ships of the series ranged from frigates, to light cruisers, to star cruisers, and to heavy cruisers.

MC30C Frigate

The 380 meter-long MC30C frigate was a class of fast-attack frigate that were originally city-ships but were retrofitted for warfare. The MC30C was considered one of the most powerful mid-level warships within the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and was one of the fastest vessels produced by Mon Calamari Shipyards. The frigates participated in the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire, taking part in battles such as the Battle of Xorrn and the Battle of Jakku under the New Republic.

MC40a Light Cruiser

The MC40a light cruiser, measuring at 500 to 600 meters, was another product of the MC-series from Mon Calamari Shipyards. The MC40A was built to be a versatile and well-rounded vessel, having the capability of serving as the command ship of a small attack fleet, as well as supporting special forces operations, diplomatic escort, starfighter base of operations, and an all-around fleet support ship.

MC75 Star Cruiser and variants

The MC75 Star Cruisers were originally Mon Calamari city-ships that were used as passenger liners and civilian transport before being converted into combat vessels for the Rebel Alliance. 1,204.44 meters long, the MC75 Star Cruiser was the first true command ship for the Alliance and boasted battleship hulls, dozens of weapons, and redundant deflector shields. The MC75 was characterized by a large ventral outrigger fin that held the bridge. The MC75 Star Cruiser was among the first vessels to be retrofitted by the Alliance, with the Rebel Alliance Navy's flagship being the MC75 Profundity. The Profundity participated in the Battle of Scarif, and other examples of the MC75 were the Accordance, the Aspiration, the Silver Coronet, and the Temperance. MC75 Star Cruiser participated in engagements such as a battle above Cianap, the Assault on the Mako-Ta Space Docks, a battle in the Hosnian system, and the scouring of Mon Cala as part of the New Republic Defense Fleet.

There were multiple variants of the MC75, including the MC75 Armored Cruiser and the MC75 Ordnance Cruiser. Additionally, there was the MC75B Star Cruiser, which differentiated in not having the outrigger ventral fin but rather large horizontal masts at the rear and an additional module near the engines.

There was also the MC75C Star Cruiser, which also lacked the ventral outrigger fin and was instead placed on the dorsal hull at the rear of the cruiser. Another MC75 warship lacked the fin, and was rather designed with a large ridge at the center-rear of the ship, with a module placed on top. A fourth variation also differed from the base MC75 Star Cruiser by having two sets of horizontal masts, one large set at the midship and a second smaller set towards the aft. This variation had multiple modules throughout its hull.

MC80 Star Cruiser

The MC80 Star Cruiser was a line of heavy cruisers of which there were two main types, the MC80 Liberty Type Heavy Star Cruiser and the MC80A Home One Type Heavy Star Cruiser. Of the two, the MC80 Liberty cruiser was the standard ship of the line, although a wingless variant of the vessel also existed.

The MC85 Star Cruiser was a 3,438.37 meters long heavy Star Cruiser jointly manufactured by the Mon Calamari Shipyards and the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Created for service in the New Republic Defense Fleet, the MC85's interior was designed to be more amenable to non-amphibious crew members than previous MC-series. Due to being constructed after the New Republic's Military Disarmament Act was enacted, MC85 was designed to be a highly automated ship, able to operate at full capacity with only skeleton crews; the vessel also was equipped with a minimal amount of weaponry, but compensated for this with extra powerful deflector shields. One MC85, the Raddus, served as the flagship of the Resistance navy until it was destroyed in the Battle of Oetchi.
