The narrator explains that in a galaxy of adventures Luke Skywalker will face Emperor Palpatine. Aboard the Emperor's Throne Room on the second Death Star, the Emperor tells Luke that he will witness the final destruction of the Alliance and the end of his insignificant rebellion.
As the Emperor speaks about his trap, there are flashbacks of Darth Sidious's machinations during his time as Senator of Naboo and Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic. There is a shot of Palpatine speaking into Queen Padmé Amidala's ear during the Naboo Crisis. As Palpatine watches clone troopers parading, there is an excerpt of his speech announcing the creation of the Grand Army of the Republic. Palpatine's proclamation of the New Order is interspersed with a shot of him attacking Mace Windu and other Jedi with Force lightning.
As the Battle of Endor rages, the Emperor goads Luke by telling him that his fleet is lost and that the Alliance and his friends are doomed. As Luke's anger rises, he scowls at the Emperor and summons his lightsaber with the Force. A lightsaber duel breaks out between Luke and Darth Vader as the Emperor cackles with laughter.
