Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless (born March 29, 1968 in Mount Albert, New Zealand) is a New Zealander actor. She is best known for playing Xena in Xena: Warrior Princess, and for roles such as Number Three in Battlestar Galactica and Lucretia in Spartacus: Blood and Sand and its sequels. Lawless voiced an Aeosian Queen in the animated television series Star Wars Resistance in "The New World" and "No Place Safe," which both premiered on January 12, 2020. Her casting in Resistance had been announced on August 14, 2019.

By 2021, Lawless was under consideration for another Star Wars role. However, following fan support for her to replace the actor Gina Carano—who portrayed the New Republic marshal Cara Dune in the Star Wars television series The Mandalorian before being fired—Lawless felt she became too "political" of a choice and believed she may have lost her chance at working for the franchise as a result.
