Low-feedback scanner

In 0 BBY, during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire, CryonCorp CEO and rebel sympathizer Belaya Rist witnessed the destruction of Alderaan from the nearby astrological object Delaya while inspecting new manufacturing facilities built there. In response to the death of her close ally Bail Prestor Organa, she invited the Rebel Alliance to hijack a shipment of low-feedback scanners.

The low-feedback scanner was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Forged in Battle, a 2016 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games. It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 5: Return of the Jedi, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Michael Stern and published by West End Games in 1990.
