Longbeam cruiser

Behind the scenes

The Longbeam cruiser was created for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project, making its debut in Charles Soule's short story "Starlight: Go Together," the first part of which was published in the Star Wars Insider magazine's 199th issue on December 15, 2020. Prior to its release, the ship was introduced in "Inside Star Wars: The High Republic: Meet the Ships and Vehicles," an article by Dan Brooks published on StarWars.com on December 11 of that year. The design was previously an unused design for the MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 heavy bomber created for the 2017 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, by James Clyne.
