Later, the defense fleet, under the command of the T-series tactical droid K2-B4, came into a brief engagement with a Republic task force, which had been sent to retrieve the rescue team and the coordinates of the Nexus Route, a hyperspace route that spanned to the hearts of both Republic and Separatist homeworlds.
