Light globes were hovering spherical illumination devices that produced soft light which could be seen from thirty meters away. The globes were notably used in 18 BBY by the Grysk operator known as "Jixtus" in his |yacht-like vessel's meditation chamber before the Agbui attempt to precipitate a Chiss Ascendancy civil war. The Grysk's meditation chamber on his freighter also features the globes whilst the Grysk was on the Chiss planet Shihon. In the same year, several light globes were used to light a meeting room aboard the Kilji Illumine nation's war cruiser Whetstone.
Light globes first appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the final installment in Timothy Zahn's Ascendancy Trilogy.
