Several millennia ago, Lefrani and Jestefad were pulled out of their orbit of the star Priate during a cataclysmic struggle between the Jedi and Sith. As a result, both gas giants were pulled close to the smaller world of Mustafar, suspending the planet on an erratic path between their gravitational pulls.
Lefrani first appeared in the prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which was released on May 19, 2005. The planet was first identified in new Star Wars canon in the seventeeth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine, published around April 29, 2015.
