The laser scythe was an energy weapon that equipped the scythe harvester. It resembled a long lightsaber mounted on a mechanized arm. The laser scythe was used to clear a path for the harvester and could also cut down enemy troops.
During a battle on a farming moon in orbit of the planet Kashyyyk, laser scythes were used to destroy several LAAT/i gunships. When Grand Master Yoda commandeered one of the two scythe harvesters, he turned its laser scythe against the other harvester to destroy it.
