LEGO City first appeared in the 2006 video game LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It is a bonus level that could be unlocked after collecting 60 gold bricks. The goal of the level is for the player to collect one million studs located in the city. In the game's 2007 re-release in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, playing LEGO City only requires 10 gold bricks, and it has a different opening crawl, one that is shared with the similar New Town bonus level.
