The kova was a non-sentient reptile native to Hynestia, living beneath the surface. The Hynestians hunted the kova for food, and also made kova leather from its skin. The Gran Kovali was a kova owned by the Hynestian royal family, and the severest punishment on the planet was being fed to it.
