Kor Plouth was a Force-sensitive Nautolan female who was a member of the Path of the Open Hand. She was the daughter of Werth and Opari Plouth, and the girlfriend of Yana Ro. A member of the Children of the Open Hand, she participated in the group's heists of Force artifacts for the benefit of the Mother.
Force-sensitive children of the Path of the Open Hand were typically sent away to the nearby town of Ferdan, but Kor's father had been unwilling to do so when she was found to have Force-sensitivity as a child. After Plouth's mother, Opari, fell ill, her family became more devout to the Path, as the Mother had provided aid for Opari. By the time Yana turned fifteen, around 387 BBY, Yana had wanted to leave the Path and travel the galaxy with Plouth. Yana discussed the matter with Plouth, and after some time convinced her to one day do so, for the possibility of finding a cure for her mother's illness. Sometime before 382 BBY, Plouth became the girlfriend of Yana Ro.
Some months later, when Yana's cousin, Marda Ro, was rejected from becoming one of the Children of the Open Hand, Plouth comforted her girlfriend before calling her to a briefing by Cincey about the Children's next mission. At the briefing, Plouth defended her attendance at the recruiting feast from Treze by referencing the hatching of Ferize's eggs. Cincey described the Force artifact they were after, a that was rumored to be able to cut individuals off from the Force, as she believed the Force was part of everything. She asked how long the mission would take, as she was eager not to miss the naming ceremony for Ferize's children.
When the Children were preparing to depart for their mission at Ferdan's docking yard, Plouth expressed admiration for a skiff that was also in the docking yard, and suggested that she and Yana buy a similar starship when they left, and assured Yana that she would be able to learn how to fly. On the Harmony, Plouth went through her Cantos, a series of exercises to keep her body limber. She drew the Path's symbol on Yana's and her own forehead. When Treze doubted how the Mother had an unmapped hyperspace route, Plouth suggested that the Mother had traded with a prospector for it.
They arrived at Port Haileap, and Plouth quickly began gathering nearby flowers for the "gifts freely given" that the Path used for recruiting purposes. Yana and Treze became doubtful of whether the valuable dagger would be in such a small town, but Kor insisted that Cincey and the Mother were reliable. Plouth expressed disapproval at Treze killing the dockmaster. The Children entered the warehouse containing many bins of confiscated cargo, Plouth wondering why such precious cargo would be unguarded. She used her acrobatic ability to reach the high up shelf with the box containing the artifact they were after. On their way back to Dalna, Plouth sensed something wrong with the box using the force. She embraced Yana and expressed her desire to travel the galaxy with her.
The Children returned to Dalna in time for the Naming day ceremony. Plouth attended with Yana. Afterwards, Yana informed Plouth of Marda's intentions to invite Jedi Zallah Macri and Kevmo Zink to the Path compound, and Plouth shared her unease at the Jedi's presence, but also spoke of her desire for her parents to like Yana enough to let them leave together. Plouth and Yana entered the Mother's abode to notify her of the Jedi on Dalna, but they first snuck off to an alcove the couple commonly used to kiss, but were interrupted by the Herald, upon which they continued to the Mother's listening room, where the Mother waited along with Opari. Plouth sensed the egg that the Mother had. After they left, she confided her dislike of the egg to Yana, who offered for Plouth to stay with her for comfort.
The next day, Yana informed the Mother of her intentions to leave the Path, who asked her to talk to Plouth, since Plouth would be leaving her sick mother, Opari. The Mother relented to let Yana go, but after one final mission. Then, the Path compound flooded, and three days later, Plouth asked Yana about her promise to sit with Plouth's family at the thanking feast. Yana protested that she had work to do, installing new lights for the caves, but Plouth convinced her to fulfill the promise, and demanded she get ready for the feast within half an hour. At the feast, Kor welcomed Yana to sit on their family's blanket with Opari. Kor embraced her mother and expressed excitement about the dancing, leading Yana to wonder if Kor did not want to leave her mother. They watched the dance, but when the Herald asked why Yana wasn't fixing the lights, Yana took her leave to finish the lights, which disappointed Kor. As the Herald joined Yana, he expressed his disapproval of Yana's plan to take Kor away from her family. Yana retorted that it would be Kor's choice to join her, to which the Herald replied that it would be better for them both to stay in the Path with their families.
The Children set off on their next mission to take the Jedi Tears the Graf family compound on Thelj the next day. While boarding the ship, Kor ignored Yana's attempts to speak with her. She began to do her cantos as usual. When they were alone together, Yana confronted Kor and asked for them to talk. Kor retorted that Yana hadn't consulted with her before speaking with the Mother. Yana said that they had been talking about leaving for years, but Kor questioned why Yana was suddenly in such a hurry to leave. Yana explained her nervousness about the presence of Jedi on Dalna and how close they were to discovering the Jedi artifacts that the Path had. Kor affirmed her belief that the Force, which did not want people to "exploit" it, would protect the Path. Yana disagreed, and added that the Mother would be leading the Path away from Dalna on the Gaze Electric anyway. Kor claimed that leaving with the Mother would be freeing, and expressed gratitude towards the Mother for saving her mother's life. Yana apologized for leaving her behind, but Kor said that Yana should have asked her to join her. The Children reached their destination, cutting off the conversation.
Reaching the Graf compound, the Children invoked the Rite of Hospitality which entitled them to warm themselves within the compound for an hour. When they reached the waiting garden, Kor stayed while Yana asked to use a refresher. A human and a Duros stayed with Treze and Kor to supervise them, but then drew weapons on them. Kor received a gash and screamed. Yana, hearing Kor's screams, returned to find Kor had jumped onto a nearby roof and had her hands up as the human had his blaster pointed at her. Yana attacked the human and killed him, while Treze stabbed the Duros. Kor jumped down to them and revealed her injury.
Yana expressed concern at the wound, but Kor said that she would live. Treze said that the guards had known why the Children were there, as if someone had told them. Kor insisted that they complete the mission to find the artifact, but lost consciousness soon after. The downed Duros killed Treze with his own knife, and Yana carried Kor outside the compound, where the cold air woke Kor up. Yana tried to help Kor back to the Scupper, but eventually the Kor fell onto the ice and refused to move despite Yana's attempts to encourage her. As Theljan whales started to crack the ice, Kor said that Yana should have asked Kor to leave with her, and that she would have agreed. When Yana protested that she couldn't ask her to leave her family and the Path, Kor said that she loved Yana more. Soon after, she succumbed to her injuries. Yana was forced to leave her body on the ice as the ice cracked and the whales pulled Kor's body into the water.
Yana Ro, Kor's partner, experienced hallucinations of the dead Nautolan for some time after her death. These hallucinations of Kor would often speak to Yana and motivated her to rescue Werth Plouth from the Temple of the Kyber where he was detained due to his role in the Battle of Jedha. Yana also saved Opari Plouth at the Night of Sorrow due to a promise she made to the deceased Kor.
Due to her sensitive head tresses, Kor Plouth was able to detect the pheromone changes that signified emotions. She was the most devoted of the Children to the teachings of the Path of the Open Hand. She did not hold prejudices against Evereni. Plouth did not approve of murder, as she felt it was not aligned with the Force. Plouth was affectionate towards Yana Ro as her girlfriend. She wanted her parents to approve of Ro.
Plouth had some Force-sensitivity, and could have become a Jedi had she not been a member of the Path of the Open Hand instead. Her Force-sensitivity granted her increased acrobatic ability, which she honed with Cantos, a kind of exercise, and used to reach high up places that others could not. It also allowed her to sense Force artifacts, such as the Rod of Seasons. On missions with the Children, she was entrusted with the role of actually retrieving the artifacts.
As typical for members of the Path, Plouth wore robes and often painted her forehead with brikal-shell paint in three wavy lines. Along with the other Children on a mission to Port Haileap, she wore the robe over her work clothes. At the thanking feast, she tied her head tresses back with a thick band of blue cloth.
