The Klegger Corporation, also known simply as Klegger Corp., was a mining corporation that exploited the natural resources of the planet Mustafar until the end of the Clone Wars.
The Klegger Corp Mining Facility during the Clone Wars
Klegger Corporation was a mining company that mined the planet Mustafar on the behalf of the Techno Union, a commerce guild of which Klegger Corp was a subsidiary. The company was based in the massive Klegger Corp Mining Facility.
The mining operations of Klegger Corp. consisted of collecting a huge amount of lava in order to extract the valuable ore contained in the magma. The Klegger Corp Mining Facility used electromagnetic and tractor beam extraction technologies to collect liquid ores that were then treated in a giant centrifuge to extract the ore from the lava. The facility also processed lava manually collected by native Mustafarians and mining droids. The miners used various tools and technology, such as lava skimmers and lava skiffs, as well as droids, including panning droids, DLC-13 mining droids and MK3 mining droids.
The Klegger Corporation began to mine Mustafar after the Techno Union took control of the planet around 300 BBY. It then became the dominant mining company on Mustafar.
In 19 BBY, at the end of the Clone Wars, the Separatist Council relocated to the planet Mustafar and used the Klegger Corp Mining Facility as its headquarters. The Clone Wars ended when Darth Vader slaughtered the entire Council in Klegger Corp's mining facility. A short time later, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived on Mustafar and dueled and defeated his former apprentice. The Klegger Corp Mining Facility was severely damaged during the confrontation, and a part of its structure collapsed into the surrounding lava. Klegger Corp. never recovered from that destruction of its main facility; the incident left the company bankrupt.
After the Clone Wars, the Mustafarians took over the mining operations of the Techno Union. Milo Mensix, a local corporation executive, salvaged the assets and the staff of Klegger Corp, preventing the mining business from falling apart. Mensix Corp eventually became the largest mining corporation on the planet.
