Kit Valent was a human male who served as a pilot in Rogue Squadron. During the Battle of Hoth, Valent was the gunner for Zev Senesca's T-47 airspeeder under the callsign Rogue Two. Valent and Senesca both died when their airspeeder was shot down.
Kit Valent was a native of the planet Huulia who served as a pilot for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. He was integrated into Rogue Squadron, a group within the Rebel Alliance Starfighter Corps who, in 3 ABY, were stationed at the rebel Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth. The squadron pilots had to adapt to using the base's snowspeeders in the cold temperatures, with Valent flying as gunner for the pilot Zev Senesca under the callsign Rogue Two.
When the rebels Luke Skywalker and Han Solo were stuck overnight outside Echo Base, Rogue Squadron were dispatched the following morning to search for them, with Senesca and Valent flying together. After flying along the Clabburn Range and over the Hanging Valley, the squadron split up over the North Ridge. After picking up sensor readings, Rogue Two changed course and continued along the North Ridge until they reached the Lanteel Glacier, where Senesca picked up a transmission from Solo and reported he and Skywalker's location back to base.
Not long after being rescued, Solo encounted and destroyed an Imperial probe droid near the base. Knowing this meant that the Empire was now aware of their location, the rebels began to prepare to evacuate Echo Base. When Imperial forces were deployed to the surface of Hoth to destroy the base's shield generator, Rogue Squadron was deployed to aid rebel ground forces in delaying the Imperials. Flying out of Hangar 7 just after the first of thirty rebel GR-75 medium transports successfully passed through an Imperial blockade around Hoth, Rogue Squadron flew up the Nev Ice Flow to confront the Imperial All Terrain Armored Transports of Blizzard Force.
Rogue Squadron quickly discovered their airspeeder's blasters were unable to penetrate the walkers' armor, but successfully took down a walker using a harpoon and tow cables. Skywalker, leading the squadron as Rogue Leader, entered into formation with Valent and Senesca in their airspeeder and planned to try and take down another walker. Senesca ordered Valent to bring his harpoon to position three, but before they could launch the cables, Rogue Two was hit by fire from one of the walkers. Both Senesca and Valent were killed in the strike, making them the first pilots in Rogue Squadron to perish during the battle.
