Kinetic Energy Vest

A Kinetic Energy Vest was a type of heavy blast vest worn by soldiers who wielded an Emperor-4 beam tube. The vest was covered in composite ceramics and was designed to absorb and dissipate the kinetic energy from incoming projectiles. The vest was part of the system worn by the soldier, upon which the backpack power cell was attached. The Kinetic Energy Vest also featured an in-built comlink with a four-kilometer range, a homing beacon for rescue parties to track, an a reserve power cell.
