Kez Velaz was a male Jedi Master who, at some point during the Republic Era, was chosen to oversee the outreach program in the outreach temple on the planet Mathas, a world that had been suffering from the Niffin plague. Sometime later, Velaz disappeared and was not heard from in months. A man called Drooz, who claimed to be a Jedi prophet and healer, took up residence in the temple and began exploiting the people of Mathas for profit.
