Kem Monnon was a major in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. During the two-year construction of Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth, engineers under Monnon's guidance cut many of the corridors, including those at the base's southern end. Prior to the Battle of Hoth, Monnon recommended that Chase Wilsorr be removed from duty clearing tunnels after his subpar efforts.
